The Twitter Files (Maybe Part 1) By DL Gang
This video makes a great summary and introduction to the relevance of this (about 3 minutes):

A more detailed discussion between Tucker Carlson and Glenn Greenwald (still only 5 minutes):

On 12/2/22 Elon Musk teased “What really happened with the Hunter Biden story suppression by Twitter will be published on Twitter at 5pm ET!”

Then Elon Musk said “We’re double-checking some facts, so probably start live tweeting in about 40 mins”
The 40 minutes rolled on for about an hour before saying “Here we go!!”
Matt Taibbi then took over at 6:34 pm with multiple posts at “1. Thread: THE TWITTER FILES”
The medias coverage are as interesting as the content. Let’s look at coverage first and then later we will briefly look at the content.
MEDIA (news aggregators)
Drudge made the Twitter Files a priority on their page
Knewz had nothing on their page
Conservative News Daily links at least 12 different sources! I consider this one of the best news aggregators.
https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net
The Bongino Report made it top of their page like Drudge did
The Liberty Daily made it a top priority and posted multiple links
Citizens Free Press also had some good links at
and https://twitter.com/CitizenFreePres
MEDIA (some legacy/main /etc)
Sky News Australia had a link to an article about the Twitter Files at
Bob Hoge at RedState ( https://redstate.com/bobhoge/2022/12/03/the-real-threat-to-democracy-dems-colluded-with-twitter-to-affect-the-outcome-of-the-2020-election-and-the-media-doesnt-care-n668230 ) observed:
“New York Times: No mention of the censorship on the front page of its website.”
I checked the next day 12/3/22 at 0700 EST and still nothing on the front page of
I also checked the Washington Post front web page and found no articles on the Twitter Files and it is the next morning, at
https://www.washingtonpost.com/
The front page of the Los Angeles Times didn’t mention it on their front web page this Saturday, day after, morning:
CNN actually had some links on their front page
Politico had something on their front web page
And I didn’t find anything on the Associated Press page
FOX news did have coverage of the story at
Breibart definitely had coverage the next morning
The New York Post, who originally broke the story and who was censored by Twitter naturally put it on their front page
The Washington Times had the story linked on their front page
https://www.washingtontimes.com/
The Wall Street Journal didn’t mention it
Reuters failed to mention it
I didn’t see anything on The Guardian’s page either https://www.theguardian.com/us
The Epoch Times had coverage at
https://www.theepochtimes.com/
Media (search results for “Twitter Files”)
and startpage
list articles from axios, rollingstone, nypost, and foxnews at the top of their feeds on this.
Qwant
has msn, thedailybeast, nypost, ussanews, marca, westernjournal, and foxbuisness with relevant links near the top of the search.
Duckduckgo
has wired, but fox news and as usa linked on msn, timesofindia, firstpost, and dnaindia near the top.
Swisscows https://swisscows.com/en?culture=en has wired, fox news and as usa linked through msn, timesofindia, firstpost, and dnaindia near the top of their results.
Brave

has nypost, theprint.in, rollingstone, foxnews, nbcnews, politico, and some other links including Musk’s Nov 28 foreshadowing of the release
For comparison I tried the Russian yandex
and near the top was part of Matt Taibbi’s thread

then a zerohedge article https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/elon-musk-releases-twitter-files-how-twitter-collaborated-biden-team-cover-hunter-notebook and a nypost article https://nypost.com/2022/12/02/elon-musk-releases-twitters-files-on-censorship-of-post/ After that sputniknews, wikinews and other links follow.
In summary of coverage:
All of the news aggregators except the left wing knewz had good results. The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, The Guardian, and the Associated Press all failed to even mention the Twitter Files on their pages. See the videos at the top of this article to see that this was very relevant news.
Are the Twitter Files relevant news?
Elon Musk tweeted on Friday, yesterday, “Twitter acting by itself to suppress free speech is not a 1st amendment violation, but acting under orders from the government to suppress free speech, with no judicial review, is”

A 1st amendment violation, if true, IS a big deal.
Rand Paul agrees that there is a 1st amendment issue here “Government censorship of Americans' speech on social media is a violation of the First Amendment, unless the Biden administration now considers the Constitution itself 'misinformation.' This will not stand. https://libertytree.com/liberty-tree/3526 “

Jim Baker was mentioned in the first round of the Twitter Files

. He is a former FBI lawyer hired by twitter https://nypost.com/2020/06/16/twitter-hires-former-fbi-chief-counsel-as-deputy-lawyer/ who was a central player in the failed Russian collusion investigation. Jonathan Turley observes “...Fresh off the false Russian collusion claims, Baker again appears inclined, if not eager, to embrace another false Russian claim. In this case, the alleged Russian hack was used to prevent the discussion of a scandal that could undermine Biden before the election.”

Influencing the result of an election IS a big deal.
The weaponization of the FBI for political purposes would be a big deal. Sara Carter says “Read this whole thread - No doubt the #FBI knew everything when they worked to suppress the truth about Hunter Biden - which was really a suppression of truth about the ‘Big Guy’
Our agencies, the bureau have been weaponized. The danger is palpable”

John Solomon says “the first release of memos gave a sobering look suggesting censorship on the platform during the 2020 election was driven by politics and political connections more than facts” https://justthenews.com/accountability/political-ethics/satbombshell-twitter-files-suggest-censorship-driven-politics-and
Drew Hernandez said “Nothing spells “threat to democracy” more than Twitter working with the Feds to review and ban accounts while suppressing a bombshell news story that the American public had the right to know about during an election
Leftists shouting “threats to democracy” are silent right now”

Was the laptop disinformation?
The New York Times actually verified the laptop as reported here https://nypost.com/2022/03/17/the-times-finally-admits-hunter-bidens-laptop-is-real/ Several people have verified the emails were theirs and the article I linked mentions “Hunter’s business partner Tony Bobulinski came forward immediately after The Post’s reports and confirmed that the emails bearing his name were legitimate … the lack of what experts call a “clean chain of custody” undermined Green’s and Williams’s ability to determine the authenticity of most of the drive’s contents”
The Washington Post said “Thousands of emails … are authentic communications that can be verified through cryptographic signatures from Google and other technology companies, say two security experts who examined the data at the request of The Washington Post … Neither found clear evidence of tampering in their examinations, but some of the records that might have helped verify contents were not available for analysis, they said. The Post was able in some instances to find documents from other sources that matched content on the laptop that the experts were not able to assess … Most of the data obtained by The Post lacks cryptographic features that would help experts make a reliable determination of authenticity … Matt Green, a Johns Hopkins University security researcher who specializes in cryptography, and Jake Williams, a forensics expert and former National Security Agency operative who once hacked the computers of foreign adversaries, separately examined two copies … The most reliable cryptographic signatures, they said, came from leading technology companies such as Google, which alone accounted for more than 16,000 of the verified emails.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/03/30/hunter-biden-laptop-data-examined/
Miranda Devine, of course, believes the laptop is authentic (she broke the NY Post story and wrote a book called “laptop From Hell”). She said “Re @elonmusk
#TwitterFiles - FBI spying on Rudy Giuliani’s cloud in 2020 with a covert surveillance warrant. Had access to his emails from John Paul Mac Isaac and me. FBI had #LaptopFomHell and knew it was real. Looks like pre-censoring a legit story https://nypost.com/2022/11/02/how-the-government-hid-the-truth-behind-hunter-bidens-laptop/ “

So there is NO evidence this was Russian disinformation and thousands of data points have been verified regarding the drive.
Is msm trying to change the narrative?
Ian Miles Cheong has observed that media appears to “The MSM is attempting to weave a narrative around the Twitter Files, claiming that the expose was "doxxing," all the while ignoring the collusion between the Biden campaign and Twitter to remove news stories and leaks embarrassing to the Biden campaign.”

There are also attacks on Matt Taibbi, the one posting the Twitter Files.
People like Michael Tracey came to his defense “These media creeps have nothing of substance to say about the reported material -- only smug meta-grievances about Taibbi himself. But you can understand why they'd want to change the subject”

Aaron Mate said “The claim that Hunter Biden's laptop was "Russian disinformation" was a blatant lie that resulted in blatant censorship. No one is obligated to care about that. But why -- especially a journalist who covers "disinformation" -- attack another journalist for exposing the truth?”
In reference to the villanization of Matt Taibbi, Glenn Greenwald said “The more major stories you break of consequence, the more employees of media corporations hate you.
It's why they want Julian Assange jailed.
Part it is standard petty jealousies, but most of it is: people in power centers are their friends, and they don't want them exposed.”

Thank you for reading.
