Hey, on the surface, infrastructure IS important, and we should all want NATIONAL infrastructure to be maintained. I am considering on studying the 2740 page bill if people reading my substack are interested in it’s specific contents. I believe the Bill is HR 3684 and located here https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/3684/text and called “H.R.3684 - Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act”
From https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/11/05/republicans-bail-out-biden-and-pelosi-to-pass-1-2-trillion-so-called-bipartisan-infrastructure-bill/
“The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) found that the bill would add $256 billion to the deficit, and the Penn-Wharton Budget Model said the bill would add no “significant” level of economic growth.”
Now, Tom Reed was one of the Republicans voting for the bill.
Who is Tom Reed?
He is from the 23rd congressional district, including “The district comprises eleven counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tompkins, and Yates county, along with parts of Ontario and Tioga counties. The largest cities in the predominantly rural district are Jamestown, Elmira, and Ithaca.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York%27s_23rd_congressional_district From the same wikipedia article “On March 21, 2021, in light of recent sexual harassment allegations, Reed announced that he would not be seeking reelection in 2022”
What did Tom Reed do? “was working as a lobbyist at the time of the alleged incident in 2017, accused Reed of rubbing her back and unhooking her bra without consent during a networking trip that year” https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/rep-tom-reed-apologizes-sexual-misconduct-claims-running/story?id=76596524&cid=social_twitter_abcn
Here is Tom Reed’s actual apology
According to wikipedia Tom Reed is married and has 2 children. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Reed_(politician)
