1619 Project First Fundamental Logical Flaw
This logical flaw cause problems for critical race theory in general.
I went to the original 1619 project issue which you can get as a pdf here at Full Issue Of The 1619 Project
As I started to read I saw in the introduction that 1619 is about more than 20 slaves being sold to colonists. Notice they are called COLONISTS! It is a colony of Britain and NOT YET AMERICA.
Then I saw them try and claim that 1619 is our TRUE BIRTH DATE.
The problem is that the slave were sold to COLONISTS … and after the COLONISTS bought the slaves … THEY WERE STILL BRITISH COLONISTS. There is nothing about America being founded here except what the 1619 project pulls out of thin air.
You can, in fact, read something like “The Autobiography Of Benjamin Franklin” and see that slavery did not pervade and corrupt every thought. In fact, in the entire book you will be looking for a mention of blacks or slavery like a needle in a haystack. The American Revolution had plenty of causes, as per Benjamin Franklin, and none of them were slavery. Slavery did not fully end in the British Empire until the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833 Based on what Franklin said in his autobiography the revolutionary war was not about preserving slavery.
The question now becomes, When did slavery pervade American life? Well, about 364511 white men died fighting for the Union against the Confederates. Are these men guilty of slavery or ending it? Do black people owe the families of these brave men financial compensation for helping with their freedom? My family came over to America from Europe after the civil war. Can I be held responsible for slavery in early America? So far, the tenets of the 1619 project and Critical Race Theory look absurd. Here is a two minute video I made about what is in this article. Thank you for reading.
